The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania has created the Opioid Learning Action Network.

The two-year collaborative is open to all Pennsylvania hospitals and aims to help organizations fight the opioid epidemic by adopting evidence-based best practices. The network's members will have annual in-person meetings to share strategies and best practices. They also will have access to educational webinars and metrics and performance-tracking technologies.

"Through [Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania's] Opioid LAN, the hospital community has a chance to share best practices and lessons learned, and work with each other to find ways to prevent overdoses and help patients receive the evidence-based treatment they need to recover," said Andy Carter, the association's president and CEO.

The association advocates for nearly 240 healthcare facilities in Pennsylvania.
