Miami-based Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of the University of Miami Health System, has added radiation oncology services at its Plantation, Fla., facility.
Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center patients can now receive all non-surgical cancer services, including access to clinical trials, at the Plantation facility, removing the need to travel to the center’s main campus in Miami, according to an April 14 news release from the university.
“We are expanding our centers beyond our main campus in a meaningful way, identifying clinical gaps and developing tailored programs that address the specific needs of these communities,” Javier Milian, associate vice president of oncology satellite operations, said in the release.
The facility is equipped with the Varian Edge and Ethos advanced linear accelerator systems to provide radiosurgery and adaptive radiotherapy.
