New York state is calling for proposals for developers to build a 200,000-square-foot cell and gene therapy hub.
The center is anticipated to be built on a 15-acre site in Nassau County with up to a $150 million investment from the Empire State Development, according to a Dec. 14 state news release. It will focus on cell therapy research, development, clinical manufacturing and commercialization.
"This Long Island hub will help to expand New York's footprint in cell and gene therapy, a growing new field of medicine that is paving the way for transformative, life-saving treatments," Gov. Kathy Hochul said in the release.
The deadline for submissions is March 14.
