Houston-based University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center broke ground on a new facility in Sugar Land, Texas, set to be the system’s largest location yet.

Services at the new facility will include ambulatory surgery, diagnostic imaging, radiation oncology and outpatient procedures, according to a March 31 news release from MD Anderson.

The new location, anticipated to open in 2029, will “help increase access to care outside of our Texas Medical Center Campus, potentially decreasing wait times for both local and regional patients,” Rosanna Morris, senior vice president and COO at MD Anderson, said in the release.
