McLaren Flint expands gynecologic oncology care

McLaren Flint (Mich.) Hospital has added four physicians to its medical team to provide gynecologic oncology services patients would otherwise have to travel to receive, The Flushing View reported Aug. 26.

The physicians are part of Karmanos Cancer Institute, McLaren's cancer research and provider network based in Detroit. They are each trained in obstetrics and gynecology and specialize in surgical oncology and medical management of gynecologic cancers.

The new team members are:

  • Robert Morris, MD
  • Radhika P. Gogoi, MD, PhD
  • John J. Wallbillich, MD
  • Ira S. Winer, MD, PhD

"Taking away the need for patients to have to travel and bringing the cancer services that we provide to the patients in Flint allows us to extend certain surgical techniques and treatments that are otherwise only offered outside Genesee County," Dr. Morris said, according to The Flushing View.
