Lawrence, Kan.-based LMH Health received $2 million from the Kansas City-based Sunderland Foundation to expand and update its cancer center, WIBW reported Aug. 29.
"Donor support is the real difference maker for this project, and it’s what will ensure our ability to provide the highest level of cancer care for years to come," Rebecca Smith, executive director of the LMH Health Foundation and vice president of strategic communications for the hospital, told WIBW.
More than $6.1 million has been given or pledged towards the cancer center initiative by various organizations.
