Johns Hopkins, Allegheny Health end cancer partnership

After nine years, Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins and Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network have announced that they will end their cancer center collaboration, TribLive reported Oct. 6.

The cancer partnership began in 2014, but since then Allegheny Health has grown its patient offerings to include six new regional cancer centers, a cancer treatment and research hub at Allegheny General Hospital and a cancer genomics lab, according to the outlet.

While the collaboration between Allegheny and Johns Hopkins will end regarding cancer care, the two will continue to partner on lung transplantation, maternal-fetal medicine and gynecologic care.
