Boston-based Dana Farber Cancer Institute has opened a new simulation center to facilitate hands-on oncology nurse training.
The Ning Zhao & Ge Li Simulation Center will provide nurses with the space to practice and refine technical skills associated with complex oncology care, according to a May 5 news release from Dana Farber.
The center’s design effort was led by Jeanine Rundquist, DNP, RN, executive director of Dana-Farber’s Center for Clinical and Professional Development and other expert oncology nurses. It closely resembles Dana Farber’s existing clinical spaces.
A $10 million gift from the Ge Li & Ning Zhao Family Foundation helped establish and build the simulation center. The gift was made in honor of Ning Zhao, PhD, a scientist, business leader and philanthropist who died of cancer in 2023.
