Dr. Theordorescu will leave the role Feb. 28, to pursue other professional opportunities, according to a Feb. 17 news release from the health system.
During his time as director, Cedars-Sinai Cancer doubled its funding from the National Institutes of Health, the release said.
Deputy director of Cedars-Sinai Cancer, Robert Figlin, MD, will serve as interim director while a search for a new director is conducted. Dr. Figlin recently spoke to Becker’s about how Cedars-Sinai navigated cancer care during the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.
