Coral Gables, Fla.-Baptist Health has filled two leadership roles at the Baptist Health Miami (Fla.) Cancer Institute.
Michael Zinner, MD, CEO and executive medical director of Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute and Baptist Health Cancer Care has been named as the Endowed Chair in Cancer Care, according to a May 2 news release from the health system.
Funds for the chair, totaling $3 million, will be used to support cancer research at the institute.
Sarbajit Mukherjee, MD, has been named the institute’s chief of gastrointestinal medical oncology, according to a May 1 news release from Baptist Health.
Dr. Mukherjee previously served as an associate professor of oncology, an associate professor of immunology and co-leader of the gastrointestinal translational research group at Buffalo, N.Y.-based Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
