5 oncologists on the move

These five oncologists joined new practices or received new appointments over the last few months.

1. Yale New Haven (Conn.) Children's Hospital selected Lakshmanan Krishnamurti, MD, as chief of pediatric hematology and oncology, effective Oct. 1.  

2. Edward Kim, MD, PhD, has been tapped to be medical director of clinical research at UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center in Sacramento, Calif., effective July 1. 

3. Suresh Ramalingam, MD, was appointed executive director of Atlanta-based Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. 

4. Convergent Therapeutics, a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company focused on developing radiopharmaceutical therapies for prostate and other cancers, has appointed Philip Kantoff, MD, medical oncologist, former chair of the department of medicine at New York City-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and co-founder of Convergent, as the company's CEO, effective July 1.

5. Sarah Tasian, MD, pediatric oncologist and physician scientist, has been appointed chief of the section of hematologic malignancies within the division of oncology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
