Vista Health's Lindenhurst Hospital Plan Rejected by Illinois Board

Waukegan, Ill.-based Vista Health System's plan to build a $131 million hospital in Lindenhurst, Ill., has been rejected by the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board, according to a Crain's Chicago Business report.

The regulatory board had issued a report in January saying that a new hospital in Lindenhurst would add to an oversupply of beds in the area. Rival hospitals, such as Northwestern Lake Forest (Ill.) Hospital and Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Ill., opposed the plan as well.

The board issued an intent-to-delay, which means that Vista can make changes to its proposal and try again, according to the report.
