South Carolina's Summerville Medical Center $26M Expansion Plan Approved

Summerville (S.C.) Medical Center has been given the green light by state officials to proceed with a $26 million expansion plan, according to a WCSC report.

Summerville Medical Center's expansion plans call for 30 medical/surgical beds, conversion of 18 semi-private rooms to all-private rooms, an eight-bed critical care unit and more. The construction is expected to be complete in 36 months.

Approval for Summerville Medical Center's expansion proposal comes after Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, S.C., asked state officials to deny Summerville Medical Center's certificate of need for expansion.
