Baptist Health System, which operates five acute-care hospitals in the San Antonio area, has purchased a parcel of land in New Braunfels, Texas, where it plans to build a new hospital, according to the San Antonio Business Journal.
The hospital, which is expected to cost between $85 million and $115 million, is being developed to meet the needs of a rapidly growing community in Comal County and other surrounding areas, hospital officials told the Business Journal.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2012. The facility will offer comprehensive acute-care, emergency care, cardiovascular services and neonatology.
Baptist Health, a faith-based system, is owned by for-profit Vanguard Health Systems, in Nashville, Tenn.
