Becker's Healthcare Donates $13,000 to Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago

CHICAGO —  Becker's Healthcare, publisher of Becker's Hospital Review, has donated nearly $13,000 to the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, as part of its charitable giving program.

The hospital, formerly Children's Memorial Hospital, moved to its new $915 million facility in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood last summer.

Becker's donation coincides with Lurie Children's annual fundraiser, Chicago Dance Marathon. The 2013 Dance Marathon event will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel. Becker's employees will participate in and volunteer at the event, where participants will dance for 13.1 hours to raise funds for the hospital.

Jessica Cole, president and CEO of Becker's Healthcare, is actively involved in Lurie Children's fundraising efforts and serves as president of the junior board. "Becker's Healthcare is delighted to be a small part of the compassionate care provided by Lurie Children's to the thousands of sick kids it treats each year," she said of the company's donation. "The money raised by Children's helps provide treatments for children in need and funds research that will hopefully lead to cures for the illnesses many of these children face."
