The men and women included on this list are at the helm of organizations regularly recognized for safety and quality. Many led their hospitals through expansions, mergers and EHR implementations. The individuals on this list are also key members of the community, serving on corporate boards and state-level initiatives to improve access to care.

This list highlights individuals who lead the hospitals featured on the Becker's Healthcare 60 Critical Access Hospitals to Know list, published in July.

Mark Dalley. Administrator of Gunnison (Utah) Valley Hospital. Mr. Dalley became administrator of Gunnison Valley Hospital in August 2011 after serving as president and CEO of Ontario, Ore.-based Holy Rosary Medical Center, a Catholic Health Initiatives affiliate. [CLICK HERE]

Eugene Della. President of Fairview Hospital (Great Barrington, Mass.) and BMC Hillcrest Campus (Pittsfield, Mass.). Mr. Della joined BMC Hillcrest in 1962 and was named president and COO in 1981. [CLICK HERE]

Marian Furlong, RN. President and CEO of Hudson (Wis.) Hospital & Clinic. Ms. Furlong has been president and CEO of 25-bed Hudson Hospital & Clinic since 1999 and plans to retire in October 2017. [CLICK HERE]

Jeanie Gentry. CEO of Steele Memorial Medical Center (Salmon, Idaho). Ms. Gentry joined the 18-bed Steele Memorial Medical Center in April 2016. [CLICK HERE].

Matt Grimshaw. West Region President of CHI St. Alexius Health (Bismarck, N.D.). Mr. Grimshaw rose to his position as West Region President of CHI St. Alexius Health in 2017 after seven years as president of CHI St. Alexius Health Williston (N.D.) Medical Center. [CLICK HERE]

Martin Guthmiller. CEO of Orange City (Iowa) Area Health System. Mr. Guthmiller has been CEO of Orange City Area Health System since 1993. [CLICK HERE]

Steven Jones. President of University Hospitals Geneva (Ohio) Medical Center. Connie L. Koutouzos. CEO of Aspirus Iron River (Mich.) Hospital & Clinics. Ms. Koutouzos is the CEO of Aspirus Iron River Hospital & Clinics, a 25-bed critical access hospital founded when Iron River, Mich.-based County General Hospital and Crystal Falls (Mich.) Tammy Loosbrock. Senior Director of Sanford Luverne (Minn.) Medical Center. Ms. Loosbrock served as the manager of rehabilitation services, ancillary service director and COO of Sanford Luverne Medical Center before becoming CEO. [CLICK HERE]

Lenny Lyons. Administrator at Delta (Utah) Community Hospital and Fillmore (Utah) Community Hospital. Mr. Lyons is the administrator for Delta Community Hospital and Fillmore Community Hospital, both nonprofit hospitals with combined governing boards. [CLICK HERE]

Amy McDaniel. CEO of Iowa Specialty Hospitals & Clinics – Belmond. Ms. McDaniel is CEO of Iowa Specialty Hospitals & Clinics – Belmond, which, in conjunction with its sister hospital in Clarion, Iowa, and surrounding outreach clinics, includes 500 employees and more than 35 healthcare providers. Michelle McEwen. President and CEO of Speare Memorial Hospital (Plymouth, N.H.). Ms. McEwen oversaw the completion of a $15 million renovation to Speare Memorial Hospital in 2006 as president and CEO. [CLICK HERE]

Doug McMillan. CEO of West Park Hospital (Cody, Wyo.). Mr. McMillan has been the CEO of West Park Hospital since 1997. He oversees the 25-bed critical access hospital's staff of more than 50 physicians and 500 employees. [CLICK HERE]

David Miller. President of River Falls (Wis.) Area Hospital. Before joining River Falls Area Hospital, Mr. Miller served as the vice president of operations for St. Paul, Minn.-based United Hospital for 10 years. [CLICK HERE]

Tamara Miller. CEO of Madison (S.D.) Regional Health System. Ms. Miller leads Madison Regional Health System, which includes a 22-bed hospital and 220 employees. She became CEO in 1996. [CLICK HERE]
