Sacred Heart Hospital patient accused of threatening hospital counselor

Police arrested an Allentown, Pa.-based Sacred Heart Hospital patient who reportedly made multiple threats against a crisis counselor at the facility Sunday evening, according to The Morning Call.

Police were called to the hospital around 6:26 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports of a "berserk person," according to the report.

A crisis counselor told police 60-year-old Edward Acevedo had become upset and threatened to kill her. She said Mr. Acevedo threw a trash can against the window twice before police arrived. An emergency room physician confirmed he had heard Mr. Acevedo threaten the counselor, according to the report.

Mr. Acevedo repeated the threats as police led him out of the facility, according to court records. He was reportedly charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. Mr. Acevedo was arraigned and sent to Lehigh County Jail on $50,000 bail.
