Physician accused of punching visitor at Florida hospital

Authorities say surveillance video from Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines, Fla., shows a physician punching a man in the hallway, according to WPLG.

According to the Pembroke Pines Police Department, the video shows William Sanchez, MD, grabbing a man by the shoulders and shoving him. When the man tried to hit Dr. Sanchez, the physician struck the man in the head multiple times and then pinned him against the wall, according to police.

The man Dr. Sanchez allegedly attacked was visiting a patient at the hospital. Dr. Sanchez claims the man hit him first after an argument broke out in the patient's room, according to the report.

Hollywood, Fla.-based Memorial Healthcare System, the parent company of Memorial Hospital West, told WPLG Dr. Sanchez was not a Memorial Healthcare employee.
