Orlando Health employee went through personal information of Pulse survivors, hospital says

Alyssa Rege -

Orlando (Fla.) Health claims at least one of its employees violated the law and sifted through the personal information of at least two survivors from the Pulse nightclub shooting in June, according to WFTV.

According to the report, the Orlando Health reached out to the survivors to explain there had been a breach in the system more than two months after their information was accessed.

A letter addressed to the victims stated that the employee responsible for the breach likely carried out the incident to satisfy their personal curiosity, according to the report.

Orlando Health said there is no evidence financial information was stolen or copied in any way during the breach. The hospital reportedly apologized for the incident.

WFTV reached out to Orlando Health but never received any comment other than the one email.

It remains unclear how the hospital will respond to individuals involved in the breach, according to the report.
