An Ohio nurse faces criminal charges over the death of a 71-year-old patient whom prosecutors say received delayed care, according to local ABC affiliate News 5 Cleveland.

Danny Clegg died in September 2017 at Kent (Ohio) Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Mr. Clegg told a nursing aide he was experiencing blood pressure issues, sweating and fever. The aide alerted 40-year-old Dana Jones, a nurse on staff, about Mr. Glegg's condition, but she failed to help him for 20 to 30 minutes, according to investigators.

Kent Healthcare and Rehabilitation fired Ms. Jones after the incident.

Police charged her with involuntary manslaughter, gross patient abuse and patient neglect. She pleaded not guilty in court April 22 and is out on bond. Her case will go to trial in August.

Ms. Jones declined News 5 Cleveland's request for comment.
