Miami plastic surgeon sues former patients for bad Yelp reviews

A famous plastic surgeon in Miami is suing two of his former patients for writing negative online reviews about him and his practice, according to NBC News.

Leonard Hochstein, MD, nicknamed the "Boob God of Miami" claims in his lawsuit that his reputation was tarnished by inaccurate Yelp reviews written by Nicole George and Kristen LaPointe. Dr. Hochstein has appeared on the TV series Real Housewives of Miami.

"My reputation is the most important thing to me. My patients come to me strictly through word of mouth," Dr. Hochstein told NBC Miami. "You want to defend yourself against things that you know didn't happen."

Ms. George said that Dr. Hochstein left her with different sized breasts and prominent scarring.

Though Ms. George said that she signed a pledge before her surgery not to write a bad review, federal law prohibits businesses from enforcing nondisparagement policies.

"I put my name on the document because I thought it was standard for all plastic surgeons," Ms. George said.

The other defendant, Ms. LaPointe, claims that Dr. Hochstein made her breast augmentation too large.

"I was very unhappy with the results. The implant put in wasn't even the size I requested," she wrote, according to NBC. "I also have horrible scarring."

Dr. Hochstein said patients leave fake negative reviews about him because of his public profile.

"Be honest, tell the truth," he said to NBC Miami. "There's nothing wrong with saying, 'I didn't like my surgery, I didn't like how it went,' and just stop there. Don't make things up."
