Man admits to stabbing nurse during attempted robbery

A man held on aggravated assault, robbery and weapons charges admitted to stabbing a nurse outside Newark, N.J.-based University Hospital Nov. 26, according to NJ.com.

The nurse, a 25-year veteran of the hospital who had just completed a shift in the labor and delivery unit, said the man approached her in the parking lot and demanded money before stabbing her in the abdomen.

The attack led to calls for increased security at the hospital by Health Professionals and Allied Employees, the union representing nurses at the hospital.
