Florida surgery center director accused of stealing hospital supplies, selling on eBay

Alia Paavola -

The director of administration for Melbourne (Fla.) Same Day Surgery Center was arrested for allegedly stealing and selling thousands of dollars worth of hospital equipment, reports the Palm Bay Daily.

Corey Hollman is accused of selling medical monitors, imaging systems and skin-grafting instruments on eBay after stealing them from the surgery center where he worked.

An investigation was launched after several hospital items were reported missing from the surgery center in April. The investigation led an undercover cop to purchase a skin grafting device — which is valued around $2,500 at the surgery center — for $150 from Dr. Hollman, according to Florida Today.

Mr. Hollman was arrested and charged with dealing in stolen property and grand theft.

Health First, which operates the same day surgery center fired Mr. Hollman.
