Customers say UnitedHealth duped them into overpaying for drugs

Kelly Gooch -

Three customers are suing Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealth Group over prescription drug co-pays, reports Reuters.

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday, customers allege the insurer charged co-payments for prescription drugs that were higher than their actual cost and kept the excess money, according to the article. The plaintiffs are seeking class-action status for the lawsuit.

In an email to Reuters,UnitedHealth spokesman Matt Wiggin said the company had not yet been served with the complaint, and that "pharmacy benefits are administered in line with the coverage described in the plan documents."
