1. Pain clinic and owner to pay $250k to settle billing fraud case
Atlanta Medical Clinic, which is a pain management clinic, and owner Timothy Dembowski, DC, agreed to pay the federal government $250,000 to resolve False Claims Act allegations.

2. States win right to join ACA subsidies case
A federal appeals court Tuesday allowed 16 state attorneys general to intervene in the appeal of a lawsuit over the ACA's cost-sharing subsidies.

3. Judge dismisses lawsuit challenging Cleveland Clinic's closure of 108-year-old hospital
A judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by a group of community activists in Lakewood, Ohio, against Cleveland Clinic over its closure of Lakewood Hospital in 2016. 

4. Lee Memorial Hospital sues to evict patient
Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Memorial Hospital is suing to evict a patient who refuses to accept placement in a long-term care facility after medical staff declared he was ready for discharge.

5. Theranos settles breach of contract suit brought by Walgreens
Palo Alto, Calif.-based blood testing startup Theranos said Tuesday it settled a civil breach of contract lawsuit brought by Deerfield, Ill.-based Walgreens. 

6. Lawsuit claims hospitals are improperly using New Mexico's malpractice fund
A lawsuit filed by the current and former New Mexico Medical Society presidents alleges the state's Office of Superintendent of Insurance improperly allowed corporate hospital chains to participate in New Mexico's malpractice fund.
