Lima Memorial Health System’s (LMHS’) mission and vision are to improve the quality of life in the Lima, Ohio and surrounding communities by providing comprehensive health services and quality care in a family atmosphere. This mission extends well beyond the physical walls of their many facilities. Each year, LMHS gives back approximately $25 million in charity care, education, free screenings, and prevention programs to the 10-county region it serves. In 1899, the people of Lima opened Lima Memorial to serve the community. That mission continues today.
LMHS continues to advance regional health care through the ongoing introduction of new programs, technology and services, coupled with an outstanding patient and family experience. This commitment to excellence is evidenced by the selection of LMHS as one of an elite few hospitals in the nation to earn Cycle IV accreditation by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, the system’s NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Health System Elders) designation, commendation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and their recent recognition as a Bronze Award Recipient from the Baldrige Performance Excellence program.
The Vice President and Chief Financial Officer will enjoy working with a collaborative, dynamic and talented leadership team and Board of Directors. This leader will have the opportunity to be part of formulating the future course for the System and will provide strategic oversight to projects and goals aligned with the organization-wide vision. The VP and CFO will enjoy leading financial resources for the System in all areas of finance including reimbursement, budgets, patient accounting, and general accounting, and will evaluate data processing needs and changes to maintain the integrity of both accounting and system principles. This new leader will also prepare financial reports and make presentations to governing boards and provide oversight of LMHS’ financial position in all areas of assets, liabilities, income, and expense, based on past, present, and planned future operations.
In this key leadership role, the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer will also serve as a champion for LMHS and the community as well as a mentor, leader and trusted guide to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Board of Directors, the Finance Department and internal and external constituents of the system. The successful candidate will be adept at recognizing and acting on opportunities for growth, improvement and enhanced quality service in alignment with the goals, mission and values of the organization.
The successful candidate will bring exceptional communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, a passion for service to the community along with a Masters Degree and 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience. Significant, successful experience in the acute hospital environment is required, and candidates who also possess a Certified Public Accountant license are strongly encouraged to apply.
