Trailhead Biosystems snags $10M

Biotech company Trailhead Biosystems has raised $10 million in series A-2 fundraising.

The funding will be used to establish a 15,000-square-foot research and development facility in the Cleveland area. Trailhead specializes in developing platforms that generate cells used in drug development, according to the Oct. 11 Trailhead news release.

"Trailhead is boldly charging into the arena of future medicine by focusing on the development of clinically potent cell-based therapeutics that could potentially alleviate conditions that lack a cure today and by developing and providing high-quality cells to accelerate the drug discovery and development process in the life sciences," Trailhead Chair Magnus Persson, MD, PhD, said. "This new funding is a continuing vote of confidence in the company's cutting-edge technology and will allow the company to advance its programs to benefit patients."
