New digital health venture fund launches with $83M

HC9 Ventures, a venture capital firm specializing in healthcare software, has closed on its initial $83 million fund.

The fund will specialize in investing in companies at the seed and series A stages. HC9 has made three investments in digital health companies so far, according to a Nov. 21 HC9 news release.

The venture fund will be led by Richard Lungen, Jon Gordon and Charlie Falcone.

"Our experience has taught us that transforming healthcare doesn't happen overnight – it takes the right insights, the right relationships and a lot of persistence. With more than 70 years' experience investing in, leading and growing healthcare companies, HC9 leverages the power of experience to support the founders that are shaping the future of healthcare," Mr. Gordon said.
