Gradient AI has acquired the health analytics business underwriting unit from Prognos Health for an undisclosed amount.
The Prognos marketplace features de-identified medical information of 325 million Americans. Gradient plans to integrate the newly acquired health data with its own artificial intelligence medical underwriting solution, according to the Oct. 10 Gradient AI news release.
"The acquisition of Prognos underwriting business unit is a game changer. Our combined solution will provide a holistic picture of group health risk that has never before been possible," Gradient founder and CEO Stan Smith said. "Insurers will now have a single point of access to multiple data sources, covering medical, prescription and lab data improving their abilities to project group health assessments and costs with much greater confidence."
