Andy Page, former president of digital health startups 23andMe and Livongo, joined Caption Health as CEO earlier this year, the San Francisco-based artificial intelligence company announced Oct. 1.
Caption Health also announced its name change from Bay Labs, and revealed that its AI-powered cardiac ultrasound software had been proven successful in a clinical study conducted at Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine and Minneapolis Heart Institute. The software, Caption Guidance, also received the FDA's "Breakthrough Device" designation.
"Caption Health's AI technology occupies a unique space in healthcare, because it is designed to enable a broader set of healthcare providers to use ultrasound, a powerful and safe diagnostic tool," Mr. Page said in a statement. "We are rapidly moving toward commercialization of Caption AI and our vision of moving specialty diagnostics to the point of care."
