OhioHealth move expected to bring thousands of jobs with new Columbus headquarters

OhioHealth expects to bring more than 2,500 jobs to the area around Columbus-based OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital with the building of a new corporate headquarters, reports Columbus Business First.

A proposed jobs incentives measure worth as much as $6 million over 10 years for bringing the jobs to the area is slated to be considered by the Columbus City Council on Monday, according to the article.

OhioHealth has proposed moving its headquarters from downtown Columbus to a new 240,000-square-foot office building near Riverside Methodist.

The new building is expected to be complete in 2019, at which time OhioHealth would move about 600 employees from leased space downtown, and others from 21 scattered administrative offices in Central Ohio, according to the article.

Specifically, the city expects 1,222 administrative jobs already in the city to move to the new building; 155 administrative jobs to come to the city from Ohio offices in Dublin, Worthington and other suburbs; and 1,156 jobs to be created in clinical or non-clinical positions with the headquarters, Riverside Methodist and several outpatient complexes, reports Columbus Business First.
