Kaiser Permanente, Alliance of Health Care Unions agreement in effect

A new three-year agreement between Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente and the Alliance of Health Care Unions has been ratified by all locals in the Alliance, officials said Nov. 15.

The agreement covers 49,000 unionized Kaiser Permanente healthcare workers nationwide, including registered nurses, pharmacists and maintenance and service workers. It involves members of union locals in California, Colorado, Hawaii, the Northwest, the Mid-Atlantic and Georgia.

The Alliance said the agreement includes wage increases in every region, as well as news educational trust money for Alliance union members and more health reimbursement account retirement funds for workers outside of California. The alliance said the agreement also includes more uniform benefits across Kaiser Permanente.

The agreement is in effect through Sept. 30, 2021.
