Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following events related to hospital-union relationships — including contracts, protests, legal issues and elections — since Feb. 19.

1. Oregon hospital's labor deal with nurses gets rid of 'buddy system'
Nurses at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro, Ore., approved a new contract agreement with management in February, according to a news release from Oregon Nurses Association.

2. Berkshire Medical Center secures deal with LPNs amid ongoing RN labor dispute
Licensed practical nurses at Pittsfield, Mass.-based Berkshire Medical Center reached a contract agreement with management, according to The Berkshire Eagle.

3. Supreme Court to rule on nonmember union fees: 5 things to know
The U.S. Supreme Court will decide a case on whether unions representing healthcare workers and other public-sector employees should be allowed to continue collecting required annual fees from nonmembers, according to a Reuters report.

4. Chase Brexton employees approve first labor deal: 4 things to know
Unionized employees at Baltimore-based Chase Brexton Health Care ratified their first contract agreement with management Feb. 26, according to The Baltimore Sun.

5. Baystate Franklin nurses postpone strike, return to bargaining table
Nurses at Greenfield, Mass.-based Baystate Franklin Medical Center withdrew their notice to strike Feb. 28.

6. Minnesota hospital workers vote to retain union representation
Healthcare workers at Chippewa County-Montevideo (Minn.) Hospital will remain part of Service Employees International Union Minnesota, according to a West Central Tribune report.

7. Union nurses at Berkshire Medical Center postpone strike
Berkshire Medical Center registered nurses withdrew their notice to strike Feb. 27.

8. Dignity Health workers protest amid pending CHI merger
Healthcare workers protested across California Tuesday at facilities owned by San Francisco-based Dignity Health, including Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz and Mercy Hospital Southwest in Bakersfield.
