Allina Health hospitals, nurses reach tentative deals

Kelly Gooch -

Allina Health nurses have reached tentative contracts with hospitals in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

The three-year deals cover nurses at Abbott Northwestern, Mercy, Phillips Eye Institute, United and Unity facilities.

They include wage increases of 3 percent, 3 percent and 2.25 percent over the life of the contracts, as well as new language related to attendance policies and provisions allowing nurses' input in hospital process review committees, the Minnesota Nurses Association said.

Union representatives said the deals also include language related to workplace violence, including three days' pay for nurses who are seriously injured in violent incidents before worker's compensation pay becomes effective.

A ratification vote is scheduled for June 27.
