16 employees resign from De Queen Medical Center following management change

Sixteen employees from De Queen (Ark.) Medical Center resigned Aug. 30 due to a change of operations under the hospital's new owner, according to the Texarkana Gazette.

The new medical center owners are moving hospital administrations, human resources and payroll services to a centralized corporate office.

A spokeswoman for the hospital declined to tell KSLA the names of the new owners.

"We didn't resign in protest. It was an applicable agreement for both sides. Anytime a new company comes in, it's part of the process. There is nothing negative on either side," De Queen Medical Center's former administrator, Jerramy Icenhower, told the Texarkana Gazette.

Police officers were asked to be present in the building as 16 employees were escorted from the facility, according to KSLA.
