6 healthcare organizations adding jobs

The following healthcare organizations shared plans to hire workers since May 19, starting with the most recent.

1. Healthcare jobs coming to Cincinnati as a result of Medicaid grant
Cradle Cincinnati, a nonprofit based at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, aimed at reducing infant mortality, plans to create two dozen jobs to reach pregnant women in local neighborhoods, according to a Cincinnati Business Courier report. The jobs — 18 community health workers and six home visitors — will be funded through a $1.4 million grant from the Ohio Department of Medicaid.

2. University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital seeks to fill more than 250 positions
The new University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital in Iowa City is seeking to fill more than 250 positions in the $360 million facility, slated to begin treating patients Dec. 10, The Gazette reports. The job openings include 227 staff positions, such as housekeeping, pharmacists, nurses, clerks and technicians, as well as approximately 27 faculty posts — physicians and practitioners.

3. UCHealth to add more than 200 jobs in Colorado
Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth will add more than 200 jobs as the organization and partner Lewisville, Texas-based Adeptus Health prepare to open two community hospitals, according to a report published by the Greeley Tribune. The 22-bed UCHealth Broomfield (Colo.) Hospital will open this month via a partnership with Adeptus Health, while Colorado Springs, Colo.-based UCHealth Grandview Hospital, also 22 beds, is expected to open in August. Each community hospital is expected to create approximately 100 new jobs.

4. Parallon seeks to fill 60 entry-level jobs at Louisville call center
Health IT consulting and services company Parallon seeks to fill nearly 60 entry-level roles at its call center in Louisville, Ky., Insider Louisville reports. The open jobs are in both day and evening shifts.

5. St. Elizabeth Healthcare seeks to fill more than 500 jobs
Edgewood, Ky.-based St. Elizabeth Healthcare will hold a career fair next month to help fill more than 500 jobs, according to a report on cincinnati.com. The open jobs are clinical and non-clinical, experienced and entry level.

6. Theranos to grow workforce nearly 20%
Palo Alto, Calif.-based blood test startup Theranos is seeking to fill 200 positions, based on its job ads — representing 20 percent growth over its current staff of 1,000, as reported by STAT. It is hiring for a host of positions, from administrative to creative to information technology to supply chain, and plans to open a lab in Harrisburg, Pa.
