Summersville (W.Va.) Regional Medical Center joined Morgantown-based West Virginia University Health System on July 1.

Summersville Regional became a full member of WVU Health System after entering into a management agreement with the health system in June 2018.

"We have received such a warm welcome from the people of Summersville and the surrounding region since we entered into the management agreement last year, and we are looking forward to strengthening and building upon our relationship with them," WVU Health System President and CEO Albert L. Wright Jr. said in a press release. "Our goal has always been to ensure that the residents there have access to the care they need close to home, and we will continue to make good on that promise."

WVU Health System, which is now comprised of 10 hospitals, is the largest health system in West Virginia.
