Pleasanton, Calif.-based ValleyCare Health System and Stanford (Calif.) Health Care have finalized their affiliation agreement.

ValleyCare has been experiencing financial troubles in recent years and has been searching for a partner for nearly a year.

In April, Stanford Health Care received approval from California Attorney General Kamala Harris to move forward with its acquisition of ValleyCare.

Under the agreement, ValleyCare, which is comprised of a 242-bed hospital, urgent care facilities, outpatient surgery centers and imaging centers, will be renamed Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare.

Regarding the deal, Stanford Health Care President and CEO Amir Dan Rubin said, "We are delighted to welcome ValleyCare to the Stanford Health Care family."
