Robinson Health System officially becomes part of University Hospitals: 3 things to know

Ravenna, Ohio-based Robinson Health System has officially become a part of Cleveland-based University Hospitals effective June 1.

Here are three things to know about the transaction.

1. During the integration, University Hospitals will work with Robinson's board, physicians, leadership, employees and volunteers "to bring investments and cost efficiencies that will benefit the communities served, including upgrades to facilities, equipment, services and technologies," according to both organizations.

2. University Hospitals will provide technology, innovative practices, strong clinical research and other new initiatives that will complement and grow Robinson's clinical programs.

3. The CEOs of both organizations showed excitement about the transaction. Thomas F. Zenty III, CEO of University Hospitals said his organization looks forward to growing and enhancing Robinson's services, while Stephen Colecchi, president and CEO of Robinson, said the integration "will further strengthen Robinson and help us sustain our mission to provide high-quality patient-centered health care to our patients and the communities that we serve."
