Quick Med Claims, a medical billing service, has acquired the Holdsworth Group's Emergency Medical Billing Division in Cromwell, Conn.

Here are three things to know about the deal.

1. The Holdsworth Group has provided outsourced billing and collections for public and private emergency medical services. The company has provided revenue cycle management services since 1989, according to a news release. Quick Med Claims has offices in Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Mo., and Cromwell.

2. Michael Lewis, CEO of Quick Med Claims, commented on the acquisition. "Quick Med Claims is excited about partnering with Bob Holdsworth, [founder of the Holdsworth Group], and the team at the The Holdsworth Group," he said in a news release. "Bob's commitment and caring attitude towards his clients over the years is exactly the partner that QMC welcomes. Holdsworth's reputation toward the EMS industry in Connecticut is unparalleled and we look forward to continuing that commitment."

3. Mr. Holdsworth also expressed enthusiasm about the deal. "Strategically partnering with QMC was an easy decision. Our corporate values are very much aligned. Michael, the QMC team and QMC's resources will allow us to enhance the services to our clients, keep our experienced team in place and add value through access to technology," he said in the release.
