Ayla Ellison -

Columbus-based OhioHealth has entered into a five-year management agreement with Cambridge, Ohio-based Guernsey Health Systems to provide leadership and management for Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, an 84-bed hospital in Cambridge.

Under the agreement, which takes effect Oct. 10, OhioHealth will provide management oversight for the hospital and three senior leadership positions. The Guernsey Health Systems and Southeastern Med boards will retain fiduciary responsibility and decision-making authority for the hospital.

"Today's announcement further strengthens our partnership with OhioHealth and ensures that Southeastern Med will continue to keep more care local both now and in the future," Ray Chorey, Southeastern Med president and CEO, said in a press release. "The management agreement will bring further stability and financial strength to our hospital at a time of disruption and change in the healthcare industry."
