North Kansas City Hospital May Undergo Sale or Affiliation

The city council of North Kansas City, Mo., has voted to consider a sale or merger for North Kansas City Hospital, according to a Fox 4 News report.

With the city council's approval, Merrill Lynch, a financial management and advisory firm chosen by the city council to lead the transaction process, will begin looking into possible sale opportunities for North Kansas City Hospital.

According to the report, the city council's decision was a surprise to hospital officials and hospital president and CEO David Carpenter, who told Fox 4 News that he "was unaware that the city was looking to sell the hospital."
