Mount Sinai to partner with CityMD to expand urgent care services throughout NY

Alyssa Rege -

New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System will collaborate with New York City-based urgent care provider CityMD to develop a program that will ensure patients have timely access to healthcare.

Through the collaboration, both organizations will jointly establish metrics for a shared provider network and will share patients' medical records with one another to better allow Mount Sinai specialists to follow up with patients seen at either CityMD or Mount Sinai locations.

"Our goal is to provide convenient and coordinated access to quality, cost-effective care at all levels," said Kenneth Davis, MD, president and CEO of the Mount Sinai Health System. “Many patients treated in the urgent care setting have chronic conditions that would benefit from prompt, efficient follow-up care by highly trained primary care physicians and specialists. Mount Sinai's vast primary and specialty care network combined with CityMD's urgent care network will create more effective healthcare that meets the needs of New York's diverse populations.

"We are dedicated to working with our health system partners to address the complexities around care navigation and patient engagement," said Richard Park, MD, CEO of CityMD. "Mount Sinai and CityMD are committed to strengthening the continuum of care and expanding access to high quality medicine for our shared patients."
