LifePoint-Norton Healthcare Joint Venture Finalizes Scott Memorial Acquisition

The Regional Health Network of Kentucky and Southern Indiana, a joint venture of Louisville, Ky.-based Norton Healthcare and Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals, has finalized its acquisition of Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Ind.

Under the deal, the LifePoint-Norton joint venture will invest $3 million in the 25-bed critical access hospital in the form of technology and other resources over the next five years. The organization will also collaborate with Scott Memorial to recruit needed physicians and improve other services.

This is the first acquisition of the Regional Health Network of Kentucky and Southern Indiana, which LifePoint and Norton formed in May 2012. LifePoint is the managing partner of the joint venture, while Norton is the clinical partner.
