HCA to expand footprint in New Hampshire

Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.H., has signed a letter of intent to merge with Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, according to local TV station WMUR.

The two organizations said they hope to finalize the agreement by fall 2019.

"Community hospitals like ours must continue to innovate in order to meet the needs of the patients and families we serve," Jocelyn Caple, MD, president and CEO of Frisbie Memorial, told WMUR. "Joining HCA Healthcare would give us the opportunity to grow in ways that benefit all involved, including our physicians, staff, the local community, and, most importantly, the patients who rely on us for care."

If the deal closes, Frisbie Memorial will be HCA's third hospital in New Hampshire.
