HCA to buy bankrupt Dallas hospital for $135M

Ayla Ellison -

Irving-based HCA North Texas, part of Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America, will buy 84-bed Forest Park Medical Center in Dallas for $135 million, according to the Dallas Business Journal.

HCA will purchase the hospital from FPMC Realty Partners III and BT Forest Park Realty Partners. The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approvals, is set to close in June.

The Dallas hospital will be the second Forest Park facility to join HCA North Texas. In April, the system completed its purchase of 54-bed Forest Park Medical Center – Frisco (Texas), now named Medical City Frisco.

Forest Park Medical Center's network of six physician-owned facilities fell into financial trouble in 2015, and its hospitals filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in late 2015 and early 2016.
