Hackensack University Medical Center Set to Renovate Pascack Valley Hospital

Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center has been approved to begin renovations on the exterior of Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, N.J., which HackensackUMC hopes to reopen, according to a report by The Record.

HackensackUMC will rehabilitate the campus' parking lots and planting areas, install additional storm drains and reactivate the helipad.

However, HackensackUMC is still awaiting a response to the certificate of need application it and its partner, Plano, Texas-based LHP Hospital Group, submitted to reopen the former Westwood hospital as a 128-bed acute-care hospital. Once approved, HackensackUMC would also renovate the interior of the facility, bringing the total estimated cost of renovations to nearly $40 million.
