Emergency Care Partners, Ascension Emergency Physicians merge

Pensacola, Fla.-based Emergency Care Partners, a regional provider of emergency medicine and outsourced emergency department management services, is merging with Gonzales, La.-based Ascension Emergency Physicians.

Emergency Care Partners serves hospital facilities in Louisiana, New York and Pennsylvania, while AEP provides outsourced ED management services to Our Lady of the Lake Ascension, formerly known as St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Through the merger, both entities will service departmental operations at 20 hospitals, according to a news release. The combined emergency medicine platform will be supported by 201 physicians and 223  midlevel providers treating more than 710,000 emergency room patient annually.

Chris Trevino, MD, and Jamie Broussard, MD, the physicians who founded AEP, will join as Emergency Care Partners shareholders and continue to serve in leadership at AEP.
