Creighton University Medical Center and Alegent Health System, both based in Omaha, Neb., may be close to reaching a partnership agreement, according to an Omaha World-Herald report.

While no deal has been struck, sources close to the situation believe a deal is "imminent," and rumors about a partnership have been rampant in the Omaha medical community, according to the report.

A deal would require consent from Tenet Healthcare in Dallas, which owns 74 percent of Creighton University Medical.
