Community Health, Wishard-Eskenazi in Indianapolis to Partner

Community Health Network and Wishard-Eskenazi Health, both headquartered in Indianapolis, have announced they have entered into a partnership agreement with approval from the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County.

Community Health CEO Bryan Mills will keep his current title and become CEO of the new partnership entity, while Wishard-Eskinazi CEO and Medical Director Lisa Harris, MD, will retain her current title, according to a news release.

All current facilities will remain open under the agreement, and the under-construction Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital is still expected to be completed and open in December, according to the release.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed, and both systems stressed the private-public partnership is not technically a merger or acquisition, as there will be no transfer, lease or sale of facilities. However, Community Health and Wishard-Eskenazi have entered a due diligence period to assess their resources and further collaborations.
